Jameel Arabians

Jandy (Gai Aristocrat *USA x Jennifer *AU (Silver Moonlight)) Dec.

Jandy was our foundation mare. She was a multi A Class Champion, including achieving the title of 1992 National Reserve Champion Mare. In 1997 she competed one last time as a nineteen year old and more than held her own against other mares, many years younger. She was awarded the title of 1997 North Island Champion Mare and at the NZ Nationals she won the broodmare class and finished in the Top Five Mare line up. To prove what a gentle dispostition she had, she won the Junior Showmanship Class with the then eleven year old Vicki Thornton. Jandy ws awarded the NZAHBS Roll of Merit in halter in 1997.

Some of her progeny include:
Jameel Wahed (Riblah) - Multi A CLass Supreme Champion - North Island Champion Gelding. Twice National Reserve Champion Gelding.
JA Applause (Echolade *USA) - A striking coloured chestnut gelding, Applause was a Champion halter horse and went on to be a successful Endurance horse. He covered many km's with the Morroco Arabian Endurance Team.
JA Gai Jaleah (Gai Cadet *USA) - Shown successfully at halter as a young horse including Champion Senior Purebred at the Royal Easter Show.
JA Janaya (Bold Fyre *USA) - Lightly shown as a youngster Janaya was undefeated in the yearling filly classes during the 95/96 season.
JA Javan (Soolia'mon *AU) - Javan was Jandy's last foal. A tall big moving gelding. He was shown successfully as a yearling including winning Reserve Champion Junior Gelding at the 2001 NZ National Show. He was brought by Morrocco Arabians and started under saddle. He is now owned by Tanya and John Harrison who have him out and about in Endurance.

Pendell Shamera (Riblah (Naaddel) x Sherani) Dec.

Pendell Shamera holds a special place in our hearts here at Jameel Arabians. The second purebred mare we brought to help lay the foundations for our stud, Shamera went on to become a Multi A Class Supreme and Champion Exhibit. In 1995 she was awarded the title of NZ National Champion Mare. In that same year she ws also awarded the New Zealand Arab Horse Breeders Society Roll of Merit in Halter.

Shamera had an exquiste head and was snow white in colour. She was our special picture book Arabian and without a doubt one of the most influential broodmares of our stud.

Her progeny include the two full sisters, JA Gai Sienna and JA Gai Serenade, both Mutli A Class Supreme Champions and the outstanding show gelding JA Gai Image (Dec.)

AA Katrina (Gai Cadet *USA x Araleigh Kristina) Dec.

AA Katrina was the third purebred mare we purchased to establish our breeding operation. She consistently produced award winning progeny (all fillies) for us. Katrina was a tall mare, 15.1hh with good bone and a multi "A" Class Champion and Supreme Award winner.

Her progeny all are A Class Champions including:

JA Katarina (Echolade *USA) - Katrina was shown by us as a youngster for many wins at Halter including Supreme Arabian Exhibit at the 1997 Northland Classic All Arabian Show and she won her filly class at the 1997 NZ National Championships. As a yearling Katrina competed at the Waikato A&P Show where she won the Johnny Rodgers Trophy from over 1200 other livestock exhibits - the first time a horse had ever won this award. Katrina was purchsed by Morrocco Arabians of Otaki and produced a foal by Bold Fyre *USA for them (Morroccan Fyre) before undertaking what has turned out to be an illustrious Endurance career.

JA Kareena (Simeon Shomer *AU) - Purchased by Fiona Gemmell as a yearling, she has had a stirling halter and ridden career, including winning A Class Supreme Championships, 2006 NZ National Reserve Champion Ridden Purebred Arabian and 2007 NZ National Reserve Champion Paced and Mannered Purebred.

JA Katriarna (Bold Fyre *USA) - Only shown by us once at the A Class Auckland Spectacular where she was awarded Junior Purebred Champion. She is now owned by Mrs Gae Walton.

JA Kaleeka (Echolade *USA)
Kaleeka has without a doubt been one of our best show horses. Shown since she was a yearling Kaleeka has won countless Supreme and Champion Exhibits, including 1994 NZ National Junior Champion and Supreme National Exhibit at the same show as a two year old. In 1997 she was awarded NZ National Champion Mare. That same year she was awarded her Roll of Merit in Halter. She has on several occasions been awarded Supreme North Island Arabian Exhibit. She remains undefeated in Halter.

Kaleeka has great presence and movement which she passes onto her foals. She has to date produced the following foals for us:

JA Gai Sienna (Gai Cadet *USA x Pendell Shamera)

Sienna has had a great show career. She is a Multi A Class Champion and has won many Classic Head Classes. She has a wonderful temperament and is a pleasure to have around. In 1996 Sienna produced her first foal for us, JA Senator (Bold Fyre *USA). He was awarded the Title of 1999 NZ National Champion Junior Gelding. For the next ten years we tried, but with no avail to re-bred Sienna. She finally produced a long awaited filly , JA Khaylee (Khouros*AU) in September 2006.

SS Frehya (Simeon Shemini *AU x Kantara (Gai Cadet *USA))

Frehya is a beautiful young bay mare by the Straight Egyptian Stallion and NZ Supreme National Exhibit Simeon Shemini. She has been unshown to date due to having developed terrible 'toothbumps'. Finally her 'toothbumps' are deminishing and we look forward to being able to show her in the future.

She has produced two foals to date:
JA Khaos (Khouros*AU) - Liver Chestnut Gelding. .
JA foal (Lexington Tequila *AU) - Filly

LEASED -  Redwood Lodge Estonia *AU (Om El Abadan x Windella Silver Fire)

This stunning mare has been kindly leased to us by Euralea Arabians

Estonia was purchased as a weanling. She had a successful show career in Australia prior to her importation. Estonia is the winner of five NZ National Titles. She is a fabulous show mare and an incredible breeding mare.

Estonia is the dam of three NZ National Title holders and two of her progeny have been sold to the USA. She is also the dam of JA Khudos, 2008 NZ National Champion Colt.  Photo Credit: Unicorn Images
